Andres is the founder of Andres Lehtmets Advisory, a consultancy providing analysis, regulatory and policy advice to FinTech companies, financial institutions and regulators across the globe. He is also a Research Analyst at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) at Cambridge Judge Business School, a Supervisory Board Member at Lightspark Payments Europe, and a recognised Top 25 Global InsurTech Voice. Prior to that, Andres worked at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) as rapporteur for the InsurTech Task Force, which leads EIOPA's work on digitalisation. In particular, he focused on new business models, the platform economy, open finance and AI. He has also served as a FinTech Forum Member and Open Insurance co-lead at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS). Andres also spent several years at the Insurance Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Estonia, where he developed policies on insurance and pension funds, with a focus on data protection and financial innovation. Andres holds a Master's degree in Public Law from Tallinn University of Technology (cum laude) and a Master's degree in Law and Information Society from the University of Turku. He has published articles on financial innovation and is a frequent speaker at FinTech events.
